Introduction

Token population is when a field in a latter stage is populated by the same value as a field with the same data name from a previous stage. So, for example,  if you have a field called {text1} on both the first and second stage, the value will be passed across and will populate the field in the second stage.

When considering duplicating field information on subsequent stages - also review Case View Functionality which reduces the overheads of duplicating fields.

Can I turn off token population?

You can prevent a field from being populated by the value of its earlier counterpart by going into the token population settings. If you click on the pencil icon on a stage in the process map, you will see the the stage settings. In the Token Population section, you can untick individual fields in that stage if you do not wish them to be populated by the same value as the other field with the same data name. Unticking the field will mean that it will have no value.
