Overview

I'm editing an event in MediaManager, and I need to know what all the settings mean on the Basic Properties page.

Resolution

SettingDescription
NameGive your event a descriptive name
Date & TimeEnter the event's date in mm/dd/yyyy format, and the time in either hh:mm AM format or military time 
DurationEnter the event's expected length in hh:mm:ss format; we recommend adding one hour to the expected length so you are not caught off-guard if the meeting runs over. The meeting duration cannot exceed 16:00:00
RecurrenceClick Edit to open the Event Recurrence Settings lightbox. This dialog will walk you through setting up a series of meetings that occur on the same day and time in a specific interval. See Setting the Recurrence Pattern for an Event for more details
Add DescriptionClick this link to add an optional description to your event. This is purely for informational purposes
Add KeywordsSelect this link to add optional keywords to help those searching for the event to find it. Enter keywords separated by either a line or a comma
Add LocationSelect this link to add an optional location for your event. This is purely for informational purposes
Automatically start recordingSelect this checkbox to automatically start the encoder on the event's date and time
Broadcast eventSelect this checkbox to enable live streaming for this event
Record eventSelect this checkbox to record an archive of this event
EncoderSelect the Granicus Encoding Appliance to use for event from the drop-down menu available
Player TemplateSelect the template to use for the video player from the drop-down menu available
Agenda TemplateSelect the template to use for the agenda from the drop-down menu available. You can ignore this if you are an Open Platform-only client
Archive FolderSelect the folder where you wish to store your archive after it finishes uploading
Archive Status
  • Select Pending to allow internal users to view and edit the archive, and decide when to make it public
  • Select Public  to allow citizens to view the archive immediately after it uploads
  • Select Not public to prohibit citizens from accessing the archive after  it uploads
Views Available / Views AssignedUse the Arrow buttons to move View pages from the Views Available list box into the Views Assigned list box. This determines on which View page(s) your archive will appear after it finishes uploading
