govService-Release-475-May-6-2021
Article Details
Uk/Ireland release date will be 11 May (ie released overnight 10th May) US Release date delayed
Available for testing on pre-live sites in the UK and Ireland on April 30, then going live on May 6. Released in the US on May 11.
Generally the release is timed to commence at 21:00 UK/Ireland Release (on a Wednesday evening) and 10:00 US release on a Tuesday (UK times) and usually there is no loss in service as part of this Scheduled Engineering work.  If we expect a transient loss in Service to occur this will be be within the opening 1 hour window of the release, and we would advise in the release notes.

govService and GDPR/CCPA Best Practice Guide

In response to a number of support queries relating to how to use the govService platform to meet the business needs under GDPR, we have created a Best Practice Guide in conjunction with our Consultants, Trust Arc. One of the many confusing areas is the Right to Be Forgotten, which rarely applies for cases and transactions requested through govService (unlike govDelivery).

US Addresses

Address Lookup and Address types settings will be deactivated by default for US customers.
US customers will have relevant address labels (e.g. Address, City, State, Zip). There will be no change to UK or Ireland address labels.

Compliance Console

  • Improved the retention processor to skip/report issues but continue processing so that data removal is optomised based on the retention periods defined.

CaseViewer

  • Added a new option to view a task. The view option will display for any user assigned to the task. This provides identical functionality to Dashboard, where with the previous completed task displays (subject to the necessary permissions). Using this new view option will prevent the task being marked as started/locked by another user.
  • This release includes code changes to allow CaseViewer permissions to be extended as follows:

Change in View case logic for CaseViewer Only:

1. Users in the View data group/static view data group will have read-only access to view ANY/ALL tasks in a case irrespective of whether the case is open or closed. This provides additional visibility on open cases. Previously, View Data groups only had visibility on closed cases. Users will NOT have permission to continue any tasks.

2. Any assigned user/group should be able to see any task that they had permission to action when open, even when the case is closed. (They do not gain visibility of any of the other tasks in the case, only the one(s) they were able to action via assignment.).

Although the code for these enhancements is included in this release it will NOT be applied to live sites until Release 476. We will be beta testing the changes on a number of customer test sites prior to releasing globally to all live sites in Release 476.

Integrations

  • When passing file uploads via integrations, users are able to send the raw base64 string (source file) with no tags or prefixes. See more details here: https://support.granicus.com/s/article/using-images-in-integrations-af-base64.
  • Currently, when browsing Integrations within the Integrations Manager and hovering over a particular Integration, a tooltip appears displaying the Integration's name. This tooltip cannot be dismissed, and does not disappear until the page is refreshed. It has now been removed to prevent further disruption.

govService Platform

Improvements

  • Updated the copy for the platform's default Cookie message and added an Irish version of the message.
  • To improve accessibility and align with WCAG AA guidelines, the HTML of Citizen Portal pages has been updated to move page elements within an HTML landmark (such as <head>, <body>, <footer>, etc.) This change will have no visual impact, but improves the navigation experience for users of assistive technologies. Custom CSS may be affected by this change and therefore Customer-Portal styling should be checked on pre-live environments.
  • With this release, the 'Change Email' functionality of Citizen Portal will now allow citizens to update the email address used to login to their account.
  • In-line with current security and data protection best practices, email verification for Citizen Portal accounts will now be enforced across all customers.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an intermittent issue where a form could be submitted even though there was a failure with a required file upload. This resulted in failed integrations and an inability to retrieve the file in later stages.
  • Currently, the "Are you sure you want to navigate away?" popup does not immediately receive keyboard focus after it appears. The user must tab through the rest of the page before focus appears on the popup. With this release, focus will jump straight to the pop-up upon its appearance. This change announces the presence of the pop-up to non-visual users and reduces the number of keyboard actions required to interact with it.
  • Added styling to visually indicate focus on hyperlinks within forms. A border will now be displayed around hyperlinks when that hyperlink is tabbed to using the keyboard.
  • Screen readers will now read prefixes added to text fields via Text Settings > Advanced > Currency Prefix.
  • A recent Security update prevented the uploading of Visio files (.vsdx). We have updated our file scanning to allow the uploading of these file types, with no impact to Security coverage.
