govService Release 469: February 11, 2021
govService-Release-469-February-11-2021
Article Details
Available for testing on pre-live sites in the UK and Ireland on February 8, then going live on February 11. Released in the US on February 16.  Please be aware that there maybe a short transient loss of service as part of this scheduled maintenance work.

CaseViewer

Bug Fixes

  • When viewing a case that was created through a single stage process, the case would get stuck at 60% loading.
  • When a case for a MyService was closed, it was not possible to view the case in CaseViewer.

Customer Portal (Self)

Improvements

  • Improved indexing to support users' ability to change their email addresses.
  • Visual styling indicating focus has been added to Form section titles. This styling improves accessibility and usability by allowing keyboard-only users to orient their position on the page. The 'aria-hidden' label has been added to a hidden text element, therefore preventing it being picked up by screen-readers or other assistive technologies.

Bug Fixes

  • Characters were not rendering correctly on primarily Irish Customer Portal sites.
  • Users were not being correctly logged off from Customer Portal.

Integrations

Improvement

  • Improvements to SPS to increase performance handling and locking of jobs, along with improved logging.

Service Designer (Forms)

Improvement

  • Improved the performance and stability of file uploads in forms to speed up the process. Previously, trying to upload multiple files within a form would take a long time to process when the form was submitted. This was causing the form submission to time out. With the improvements we made, users can now upload any number of files within a form and the form submission will not time out. The individual file upload limit will remain at 10MB.

Additional Notes

New Saves

Following successful beta testing, New Saves, which enable the save to be visible in the Customer's MyRequests (latest Version) and in Dashboard/CaseViewer are now available for Release, subject to the following prerequisites:
  1. All platform integrations are running under V2 integrations (this can be reviewed using scanner)  link to https://support.granicus.com/customersupport/s/article/scanner
  2. MyRequests must be the latest version (prev known as MyRequestsV3)  link to https://support.granicus.com/customersupport/s/article/myrequests
To request New Saves, ensure the above two prerequisites are met and then raise a support call in usual way. Your site will be switched to the New Queue Processor and New Saves configured.

Note: Once New Saves are switched on, any saves made in the old version will not work, therefore you may wish to add a message to processes using saves to advise that the save must be actioned or lost prior to x date (when you implement new saves).

Advance Notice

As part of our ongoing commitment to improve our security and take advantage of the new features and performance improvements in the later versions of PHP we are upgrading to PHP 7 in Release 470. Release 470 will only include the PHP updates to the core platform, and there will be no functional changes.

We plan to make release 470 available on pre-live a week early (February 15, 2021), allowing the opportunity for customers to review its impact on their local processes. Further details will be provided once we announce release 470.
