New app: Legislate

We are pleased to announce the release of Legislate, a cloud-based application for viewing meeting agendas. Legislate is similar to iLegislate in that it allows board and council members to receive, review, and annotate meeting agendas, packets, and attachments digitally. Unlike iLegislate, there is no need to download Legislate; instead, it is accessible on tablets and computers via the modern web browser of your choice. It is available to current Peak Agenda and Legistar customers at no additional cost.

Legislate does not currently include a voting feature, although voting is currently in development. Jurisdictions who are using the electronic voting functionality of iLegislate may want to continue using iLegislate for the time being.

You can access Legislate via the URL https://[jurisdiction].granicus.com/legislate (replace “[jurisdiction]” with your jurisdiction as it appears in your MediaManager URL).

You can do the following in Legislate:

  • View your published agendas.
  • View and annotate agenda attachments.
  • Bookmark agenda items.
  • Take notes on agenda items.
  • View meeting videos.

These features are currently unavailable in Legislate:

  • Legislate does not currently support remote voting. (This will be added in the future.)
  • Users cannot download materials for offline work. (This will be added in the future.)
  • Users do not receive notifications when agendas have been updated.
  • Legislate does not save prior annotations when attachments are updated.

A user guide for Legislate will be published on our Support site shortly after the application is released. Please refer to the user guide for more details on how to access the app and navigate through different features.

Boards and Commissions

  • We have fixed an issue with custom email triggers. Boards and Commissions now sends emails according to the set triggers as expected.

SpeakUp

  • We have fixed the links in the footer of new eComment notification emails. If the links provisioned in the meeting settings for a given event include subdomains, these subdomains are now included in the email links.
