Overview

This guide takes you through the process of uploading a video contained on a DVD to MediaManager. The steps apply to users on an H.264/MP4 client. You'll need to download a free application called Handbrake in order to convert the DVD files to the proper MP4 format.

  1. Navigate to the Handbrake website and download the application.

  1. Once the file downloads, double-click to open the Handbrake application. The icon looks like this:

  1. The window shown below opens:

  1. Insert the DVD into your computer's optical (DVD) drive.

  1. Return to the Handbrake application and click Source.

  1. A Source Selection pop-up window displays. Click D:\ (DVD Video Recording).

  1. Handbrake will automatically scan your optical (DVD) drive for the video and prepare it for conversion. Once the scan is finished, click Browse to create a destination for the converted file to be stored.

  1. Select the folder in which you'd like to place the video, and type a name for the file in the File name field. You'll notice that the default format is MP4. Leave this as is. Click Save.

  1. Verify that the destination name and location are correct, then click Start.

  1. The DVD will begin its conversion process. Once complete, it's ready to be uploaded to MediaManager. Navigate to your MediaManager page and sign in.

  1. Click the Archives tab to open the archives page.

  1. From the Archive Folders menu on the left, select the folder you want to upload the video to.

  1. After selecting your archive folder, click the New Video button.

  1. The MP4 File Specifications page opens. Click the Choose File button to select your converted file.

  1. Navigate to the location of your newly converted file, select it, and click Open.

  1. Click Start Upload.

  1. Once the file is uploaded, it will be stored in the specified archive folder. Its archive name will be that of the file you uploaded. You can change the title of the archive, trim the video, and set the archive to Public, PendingNot Public, etc.

Note: We recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to manually upload videos, as uploading files using this process via Internet Explorer is not reliable.
