Whether you've forgotten your current password or would like to change your password for security purposes, you can reset your govDelivery password as often as you wish. You can reset your own password from inside govDelivery, and certain administrator roles can also help other govDelivery administrators reset their passwords if they are not able to access their account.
Helping Another Administrator Reset Their Password
You must be an Account Administrator to reset another administrator's password.
In some cases, administrators in your organization may lose or forget their password and not be able to reset their password from inside their account. In this case, a higher level administrator can assist them in resetting their password. To do so, complete the following steps:
On the left navigation menu, click on the Administrators option.
Click on the name of the administrator whose password you wish to reset.
Click ResetPassword at the bottom of their Administrator Information.
The Administrator will receive an email with instructions for changing or resetting their password.
Note: If an administrator's user account is locked--for example, in the event of too many failed login attempts--you will not be able to reset their password. You must contact Granicus to unlock their account. To do so, submit a request at the bottom of this page.
Resetting Your Own Password
When You Forgot Your Password
If you can't remember your password, you can request that it be reset directly from the login page:
Click the Reset My Password link found under the login fields.
Enter your Email Address.
Click Submit.
Check the email inbox connected with your govDelivery account. Shortly, you will receive an email with a link to reset your password.
If you do not receive the password reset email, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Confirm the email address: Make sure you entered the exact email tied to your account. If you have multiple email addresses, try the one you originally used to register.
Check all mail folders: Look in Junk/Spam, Promotions, Quarantine, and Clutter. Search your inbox for terms like "password reset" or govDelivery.
Safelist the sender: Ask your IT or email administrator to allowlist the sender and domain used by govDelivery (for example, noreply or notifications addresses from granicus.com, govdelivery.com, or your organization's configured govDelivery sending domain). Add the sender to your contacts.
Try again after 5–10 minutes: Email systems or security filters can delay delivery. Request a new reset and wait a few minutes. Do not click old links once you have requested a new one.
Use a different network or device: If your organization filters links, try opening the reset email on a mobile device off corporate Wi-Fi to test.
Browser hygiene: Clear cache/cookies, disable extensions that block scripts, and try an alternate browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
Provide details to Support: If the email still doesn’t arrive, contact Granicus Support with your email address, the product (govDelivery), the approximate time you initiated the reset, and screenshots of any messages. In some cases (for example, loops in the reset process), Support can help by issuing a temporary password or triggering a new reset for you.
Tip: Some security tools pre-scan links and can inadvertently mark a reset link as used. If this may apply, ask IT to exclude or safe-scan password reset emails from the govDelivery domain.
When Logged In

In the drop-down user menu, click My Profile and Security.
At the bottom of your Administrator Information page, click on the button that reads Reset Password.
A green confirmation box will appear that reads "Password change request sent."
Check the email inbox connected with your govDelivery account. Shortly, you will receive an email with a link to reset your password.
