The Public Meeting Settings page enables you to set comment length and cutoff time, disclaimer and thank you text, and turn off or on various options including requesting to speak and commenting on agenda items. 

The table below describes the fields on the Public Meeting Settings page. Take one or more of the following options, then click Update at the bottom of the page.

Comment Limit

Enter a number of characters to limit the length of comments. Users will not be able to enter more than the number of characters than entered here. 

Close Comments

Enter the number of minutes before the meeting that you want comments to close. This will apply to any agenda items that do not have a custom time set up.

Notify

Enter the email or emails to which notification should be sent when the comment period closes. 

Disclaimer Text

Enter any disclaimers or information your citizens should know before making a comment; for example, "If you do not want your personal information included in the official record, do not complete that field."

Thank You Text

Enter a thank-you message to citizens leaving comments. 

Speaker Confirmation TextEnter a confirmation message to citizens who have signed up to speak.
Allow Users to Upload Attachments?Select this checkbox if you'd like to enable users to upload attachments with their comments.
Allow Users to specify their position? [Support, Oppose, or Neutral]Select this checkbox if you'd users to be allowed to specify their position on an issue.
Allow Users to Request to Speak Live at Meetings?Select this checkbox if you'd like users to be able to request to speak at meetings. 
Make Users' Comments publicly visible?Select this checkbox to make users' comments public.
Allow Users to comment?Select this checkbox to enable citizens to comment on agenda items.
Term for a "Meeting"Enter the term you'd like to use for your events, e.g., "session" or "meeting."
Term for an "Agenda Item"Enter the term you'd like to use for your items, e.g., "agenda items" or "legislative bills."
 
 
When you've made any changes and selections necessary, be sure to click Update to apply these settings.
