Solution

After you have finished customizing the Video Player Settings, be sure to click the Save Settings button. Complete the following steps to open the player with your new settings.

Click the Archives tab.
Double-click an archive that uses the Integrated Public Record template.
Confirm your settings display in the player.
Study the following image to familiarize yourself with the Modern Video Player interface.

Stream Settings

If there is no video to stream, a message alerts citizens that no video was found.

Loading

When a video is loading, the following image with a status bar will display. Your chosen thumbnail will appear in the background behind the status bar and image.

Before Event

If you are streaming a live event, a message with the start time will display in the player before the event begins. During this time, the player continuously tries to connect to the live stream.

When an event is streaming live, citizens receive confirmation of the live event with the “Live” notification and streaming time.

After Event

When an event has ended, the player displays a notification that the event has ended.

Audio Only

If the streaming content is audio only, a message appears that says “Audio only.”

Document Display

Agenda

The agenda displays in the Document Viewer when a citizen clicks the Agenda button.

Minutes

The minutes display in the Document Viewer when a citizen clicks the Minutes button.

Timestamps

Your meeting’s timestamps or index points display both in the Index section and as hyperlinks in the minutes document. When a citizen clicks either the timestamp in the document or index section, the video jumps to the specific point associated with the timestamp.

Playback Buttons

The playback buttons perform a number of functions; they are described below.

Playing

The play button starts the video. Citizens click the play button or anywhere in the video window to play the video.

Pausing

The pause button stops the video at its current point; it will then continue playing from that point when the video is started again. Citizens click the pause button or anywhere in the video window to pause the video.

Volume

To adjust the volume, citizens hover over the volume button and click either the + or – button. Citizens click the volume button to mute the sound.

Fast-forward

Citizens click the fast-forward button to advance through the video at 4x speed. They click it again to stop advancing. Alternately, citizens may drag the slider to the left to advance the video to a specific spot.

Rewind

Citizens click the rewind button to go backwards through the video at 4x speed. They click it again to stop rewinding. Alternately, citizens may drag the slider to the right to rewind the video to a specific spot.

Closed Captions

Citizens click the closed captions button to turn closed captions on or off.

Full Screen

Citizens click the full-screen button to maximize the size of the video. Citizens click the Esc button to exit full-screen mode.

Citizens click the embed button to receive code to display the video on their own website.
