Troubleshooting

Why are some of my subscribers seeing browser security warning messages during signup?

govDelivery uses https to deliver subscriber pages for your account. Because these pages can be customized by you, they can contain content that your organization controls, for example an image hosted on your website. This makes it possible for your organization to include content on these pages that is not delivered securely over https. When some browsers encounter a mix of secure and unsecure content on a page, they will display a warning message indicating that the site is not secure.

In addition to the content you have customized on your subscriber pages, the favicon--the icon displayed for a page at the top of your browser--used for these pages is pulled from the homepage that we have on file for your organization. This means that if the favicon on your organization's website is not delivered over https, your subscribers will see the warning message on subscriber pages in some browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox.

The best way to avoid this is to make sure your organization's website is delivered over https. If you notice this problem, submit a request by clicking the 'Contact Support' button on the right side of this page. Our Customer Support team will work with you to identify which of your content is causing the security warning message.
