Subscriber records seen in govDelivery– in export files or subscriber tables, for example – describe the subscriber "origin." Subscriber origin is the process by which the subscriber record was created. It does not describe how the subscriber was added to a topic, and the subscriber origin will not change, no matter how many topics they're added to.

Subscriber origin types:

  • Direct. The subscriber signed up for your account through the default subscription pages available for your govDelivery account (sometimes referred to as "quick subscribe pages" or accessed via "Snippets" within your account).
  • Network. The subscriber signed up through another agency's subscription page and then signed up for your account through a network option that appears in the subscription process.
  • Local network. Similar to "Network" – the subscriber signed up for your account during the subscription process for another agency. In this case, your account was suggested to the subscriber based on their geographical location.
  • Overlay. The subscriber signed up for your account through a custom-built overlay made by the Granicus Digital Design team.
  • Upload. The subscriber was added to your account by an administrator.
  • Signup Builder. The subscriber originated from a signup made with the Signup Builder. This includes subscriptions that originated from any version of the Signup Builder, including an embedded signup, signup builder overlay, or URL on your webpage.
  • TMS-Integration: The subscriber was added to your account via the TMS Data Fusion feature.
  • Other. A designation given to subscriber records whose origin doesn't fit into the other categories. It could mean, for example, that the subscriber record was added by a govDelivery background process, such as restoring a deleted record. It could also represent a legacy subscriber record that was created before the origin types were defined.
